Power lifting is a strength sport, consisting of three events: the squat, the bench press, and the dead lift. At a power lifting meet the events will follow in order: squat, then bench press, and the dead lift will be the final lift of the meet.
Some meets may only offer a field for one type of lift. Lifters compete based on weight classes and age. Competing lifters can wear only a single-ply tight one let,(similar to a wrestler's suit), a t-shirt, single wraps for knees and wrists, and a lifter's belt. NASF power lifting is an "All Natural" Competitive Field for weightlifters electing to remain drug-free during training and competition.
