For Immediate Release: Hampton, VA – The North American Sports Federation (NASF) recently held its 9th Annual National Body Building and Figure Championship called the American Challenge. Athletes from all across the country competed for the National Title in this body building and physique contest. Mr. Bob Crist, National Director of the Iron Sports Division of NASF, which includes Body Building and Figure, Power Lifting and Olympic Weight Lifting, is pleased to announce this year’s National Champions. Colt Minneci (40) of Gurnee, Illinois captured first place in the Men’s Master class 35-49 and the Men’s Open category. He ultimately won Overall Champion as well. Colt is a personal trainer with Gold’s Gym in Gurney, Illinois and actually came to the NASF competition to vie for the National Title after winning 1st runner-up last year in the Overall Championship round. “Scoring last year was so close; I knew I had to go for it again this year. I’m very happy that my hard work and training paid off” indicated Colt. Karen White (39) of Sterling, VA swept the Women’s Division all around. Mother of 4 and a personal trainer/boot camp instructor, Karen placed first in the Women’s Open Body Building class and in the Women’s Figure categories. She was also proclaimed Overall Champion in both categories which gave her (2) National Titles in one night. “I’m absolutely ecstatic! I wasn’t sure which category best defined my physique so I crossed over from Figure to Body Building. It was definitely a good night” said Karen. Bob Crist noted during the competition that…“Iron Sports such as Body Building require a great amount of fortitude and commitment. Not only do these athletes sacrifice a great deal just to be here, but their families and friends endure the strenuous training regiment with them. We are very pleased with the turnout of athletes and spectators at this year’s National Championship meet and are very proud of Karen and Colt as our National Title winners. On behalf of the NASF, I congratulate them on their tremendous success!” Bob Crist is also the Former Chairman of the Mr. America Pageant, Former Chairman of the US Olympic Weightlifting Committee and an inductee in the US Weightlifting Hall of Fame in York, PA.
