NASF National Director Announces 2010 Presidential Body Building and Figure Champions Print E-mail

For Immediate Release:

Hampton, VA – The North American Sports Federation (NASF) recently sanctioned the 1st Annual President’s Day Open Body Building and Figure Championship as part of the Hampton Roads Sports Festival.

Mr. Marcus White, National Director of the Iron Sports Division of NASF, which includes Body Building and Figure, Power Lifting and Olympic Weight Lifting, is pleased to announce this year’s President’s Day Open and qualifiers for the NASF Iron Sports’ National Body Building & Figure Championships.

Kevin Proctor captured first place in the Men’s Master Class (age 35-44) and went on to become the Overall Men’s Master Champion.  While Jerry Martin grabbed the Men’s Overall Open Championship after he battled it out with new comer Ronald Sutton, the Men’s Novice winner.

Lynn Combs swept the Women’s Body Building Division all around.  Lynn placed first in the Women’s Open Body Building class and Master Divisions.  However, although the Figure competitive field was light, Sherry Williams had a great showing and took the title for the Women’s Figure competition.

Floyd Keller, NASF Iron Sports Body Building Commissioner, noted during the competition that…“Iron Sports such as Body Building require a great amount of fortitude and commitment.  Not only do these athletes sacrifice a great deal just to be here, but their families and friends endure the strenuous training regiment with them.  We are very pleased with the turnout of athletes and spectators at this year’s President’s Day Event and we look forward to bringing our National Championship – “The American Challenge,” to the Hampton Roads Sport Festival, which will be directed by former Mr. America Body Building competitor and gym owner, Kevin Parrott. On behalf of the NASF, I congratulate the athletes and directors on their tremendous success!”

NASF sanctions approximately 10-15 iron sport competitions a year and is currently preparing to release their new schedule for 2011.
